The House with the Yellow Shutters
The ideal base camp for hiking in the Upper Beaujolais
The Upper Beaujolais is a still-undiscovered hiking territory, where trails wind through pine forests, rolling green hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see. Our large holiday home in the Beaujolais, in Saint-Igny-de-Vers, makes a perfect base: several waymarked routes start straight from the village, so you can lace up your boots without taking the car.
The region's emblematic summit, Mont Saint-Rigaud rising to 1,012 metres, is accessible from the house and offers a stunning panorama over the Alps, the Massif Central and the Beaujolais vineyards. The GR de Pays trails of the Beaujolais also cross the area, offering varied stages for every level. After a day on the trails, the 7-seat jacuzzi facing the hills gives a welcome recovery for tired muscles.
With 330 m² and 6 bedrooms, the house comfortably hosts hiking groups of 10 to 18. The fully equipped kitchen lets you prepare the next day's packed lunches, the fireplace warms up evenings of stories, and the 1,000 m² garden offers room to dry gear and unwind. Whether you're Sunday walkers or experienced hikers, the Beaujolais Vert has plenty to surprise you. From €1,000 per weekend for the whole group, head out on the trails.
